What does Afriknit manufacture?+
Afriknit is a specialist seamless garment manufacturer producing underwear, activewear, shapewear, compression garments, base layers, thermals and related technical apparel. We manufacture for retailers, brands, private-label businesses and other commercial customers.
Where are Afriknit garments manufactured?+
Our manufacturing facility is located in Botshabelo Industrial Park in the Free State, South Africa. Factory visits can be arranged by appointment. Afriknit has its headquarters in Johannesburg, Sandton.
Can you copy or develop from an existing sample?+
We can use a reference garment to understand the required fit, construction, dimensions, yarn characteristics and performance. The product will then need to be engineered for our seamless knitting platform and your agreed commercial specification.
What is Afriknit's minimum order quantity?+
Our advertised starting MOQ is generally from 1200 units. Actual minimum quantities depend on factors including garment, yarn, colour, size ratio, development requirements, dyeing requirements and production economics. We assess each programme individually.
What are your lead times?+
Lead times vary according to the product, yarn availability, colour, finishing requirements and production schedule. For established programmes, indicative production lead times can be in the region of 10–12 weeks, subject to raw materials currently being in stock. Development and sampling time is additional.
Can you pack to retailer specifications?+
Customer-specific packing can be arranged. This may include individual packaging, size stickers, swing tags, barcode labels, ratio packing, carton specifications, routing and delivery documentation. These requirements should be confirmed before production.
